What are mantras ?

Mantras comes from the word ‘Maan’ which means Mind. Therefore, Mantras means ‘to protect the mind’. By pronouncing the correct mantra correctly, one can get very auspicious results.

The basic principle is to count out the number of words and letters in a mantra. The number of words represents the source and the number of letters represents the destination.

Let’s take the example of Maha mrutyunjaya mantra

Trayambakam yajamahey sugandhim pushtivardhanam oorvarukamiva bandhanaanmrutyormooksheeya maamrutaat

We compute the number of words and it is 7

Trayambakam (1) yajamahey (2) sugandhim (3) pushtivardhanam (4) oorvarukamiva (5) bandhanaanmrutyormooksheeya (6) maamrutaat (7)

We now compute the number of letters in the mantas

Traya mba kam ya ja ma hey su gan dhim push ti var dha nam oor va ru ka mi va ban dha naan mru tyor mook shee ya maam ru taat

we got 32 letters. Since we have 12 houses in Jyotish , we need to determine on which house 32 will go to. We remove 12 until we get a house

32-12 = 20

20-12 = 8

Therefore the destination becomes 8th house and the source is 7th house. Weaknesses in the 7th houses are removed and positive energies are taken in the 8th house.

7th house is a maraka sthana house (killer house) and 8th house is the house of longetivity. By doing Maha Mrutyujaya Mantra, we remove the fear of death and is liberated one from the cycle of death and rebirth. The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is very much a protector from accidents, mishaps and daily calamities in the modern busy life.

The devasthana is the lord that will give you the desired results. To get the devasthana, use the following principle: destination + destination – source. We get 8+8-7 = 9th House

Shiva sits in the house, the house of protection. Conclusion, by reciting the mahamruttunjaya mantra, lord shiva will remove one from the jaws of death and rebirth

Similarly, if one is having problems with career, one can do a mantra with 10 letters
